He also had his own shows ‘Maclean Up Britain’ and ‘Keep It Maclean.’ Don has spent over 40 years in show business, enjoying countless summer seasons as well as appearances at the London Palladium.
Don is a veteran of pantomime having appeared in numerous major panto productions over the years. He is widely regarded as one of the best ‘dames’ in the business, a view echoed by the Stage newspaper when he was voted the No1 Panto Dame in their feature on this subject.
For 15 years Don presented Good Morning Sunday on BBC Radio2 and interviewed over 1,200 people during this time, including worldwide political and religious figures, as well as major stars of the music and entertainment industries.
Although best known as a comedian and presenter, Don originally trained as an actor, and appeared in ‘Crossroads’ and ‘Carry On Columbus.’ In recent years he has returned to his acting roots in theatre productions including ‘There’s No Place Like A Home,’ ‘Go And Play Up Your Own End’ and ‘Back To Back.’
Don continues to be much in demand for corporate and after dinner engagements, and is a regular entertainer to passengers on the ocean wave on luxury cruise liners.
