Andy is regarded as one of the top comics in Britain. With his zany off the wall humour and superb singing voice, he has entertained audiences throughout the UK and indeed further afield. Often described as a cross between a modern day Eric Morecambe and Tommy Cooper, Andy has won the respect and admiration of audiences and his peers alike, during his many years in show business.
Andy was born and bred in North Wales. He began his career as a comedy impressionist and went on to form a comedy double act called ‘Powys & Jones’. During his time with Powys and Jones, he appeared on network TV numerous times and hosted a series on ITV1 Wales. Much of their success was testament to the original comedy routines written by Andy himself.
Andy has worked extensively throughout the UK with his comedy act, and has also entertained audiences as far afield as Europe and North Africa, where his act was met with great acclaim. Andy has also toured with some of the industry’s best known artistes, including the late Barry White and the Love Unlimited Orchestra, and Engelbert Humperdinck, at the Royal Albert Hall in London. He also supported the Stylistics on five of their UK tours, and also worked with Marti Webb, Barbara Dickson and many more headline names.
He was delighted to appear at the Kings Regiment Tricentenary Celebration, attended by the late Queen Mother. More recently, Andy was honoured to be invited to host and compere a royal gala show attended by Her Majesty The Queen and Prince Phillip.
Andy is also an accomplished actor. He appeared as Brian Jackson in Emmerdale, as Felix Carling in the musical The Pied Piper of Hamelin, and he was thrilled to spend a season in Liverpool working for the internationally acclaimed ‘DreamThinkSpeak’ company in the world premiere of ‘One Step Forward, One Step Back’ directed by Tristan Sharps.
Andy is a very experienced pantomime performer, and has appeared in every major UK venue alongside some of the industry’s most famous headline artistes.
